Cafe Hipp in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm

It is a clean and beautiful place. The place is spacious. They have a good variety of cakes and chocolates and also many goodies to make gifts. I bought a very nice box of chocolates with an illustration of the city. The cakes were delicious, I would like to return when the situation normalizes so that I can make a more complete review.

Don't buy a cake from Hipp anymore. Horrible taste. I would have expected better in this cafe.

Incredibly beautifully remodeled. It's just a shame that you can't enjoy your cake in this wonderful atmosphere at the moment.

If you want to give something special, you will find it here. We have also packed 2 × 1kg pralines as a gift. We were very happy with them. They were fantastic presents.

I think the conversion was very successful. The upper floor is much bigger now. It is stylish and modern, you sit very comfortably. We enjoyed very good cheesecake with salad with the friendly service, as well as homemade ice cream (Mango recommendation). On the ground floor an interesting gift shop where you can also find various beautiful greeting cards. An impressive selection of teas and unsurpassable homemade pralines.

Wonderful selection of patisserie, cakes and biscuits paired with traditional craft and a boutique style shop and cafe, as I recall it. They also had the occasional concert and exhibition. I particularly loved the huge collection of patterns for speculatius.

Wanted to go from Neuburg to drink coffee and because of the cakes. Reservation is not possible. So we left it. If you don't have to, you alienate guests ...

We had breakfast today, it was plentiful and tasty, the service was good. What we found a shame, there were only tiny (baked?) Rolls, we had expected homemade or bakery rolls in such a well-known house. The honey was mixed from somewhere in the EU / non-EU, in small portions in plastic shame. The jam in small bowls and homemade - great!

A shame, the coffee and the cake were served without milk and a fork. The sundae was good. The service is badly organized and haphazard. The old flair of the café has unfortunately been lost with the renovation.

Cakes are no longer as tasty as they were a few years ago, sometimes taste a bit artificial or seem to be from the previous day. Ordered a hearty muffin, which was unfortunately very hard and dry.

The newly opened Café Hipp is always worth a visit or a stopover! Traditional confectionery in a modern atmosphere. Pleasant bright and spacious layout. Appealing atmosphere. A nice detail are the wall prints (historical initials of an ancestor) on the first floor, framed in real stucco moldings. Visit after renovation and reopening on July 10, 2020 for coffee and cake.

First of all: the products from Cafe Hipp are great. The negative: We have been guests in the outdoor area for years. It happens again and again that waiting times of 30 minutes are possible outside (before ordering and before paying). The products come to the table quickly. Now after the new opening we wanted to try the outside area again and again we waited 25 minutes after none of the waitresses took notice of us, although the table was empty, we left again. Unfortunately, we kept seeing the waitress who never looked around to our table. During the waiting time, new people kept coming to free tables - and were served immediately. That was really the last time we waited. The concept in the outdoor area should really be revised, as I've heard it from some others. The waitresses should be trained more to have an overview of all tables and not just those close to the house. Very disappointing.

The cake is pretty good but *some* of staff are very inattentive (and a bit rude) and it can take a long time to be served when it is busy

Othello next door is muuuuuuuch better. Hipp has one stressed out waitress per 100 people. Poor thing. It takes awhile to get service here but no wonder. Hire more wait staff. A latte macchiato to go was over 4 €. Just go to Othello. Or get a piece of cake (it's all right) and leave ASAP.

Best cakes in town, hands down. A lot of choice variety on offer is sure to have something for every taste.

Good for dessert and people watching.

Cake was very good.

Outstanding deserts and a simple but solid tasting breakfast and light lunch. Owned by the Hipp family made famous for their line of baby food products. If you happen to visit this cute village make sure you come to the city square and eat here.

High-quality baked goods and pralines from a long-established traditional cafe.
